Punctum

Punctum - conceito criado por Ronald Barthes em relação à fotografia, é uma espécie de fora-de-campo subtil, como se a imagem lançasse o desejo para além daquilo que dá para ver. É aquilo que acresce à fotografia e que, no entanto, já lá está.

Roland Barthes desenvolveu durante a sua carreira um interesse por fotografia e qual o seu potencial de comunicação da realidade. - "Reflecting on the relationship between the obvious symbolic meaning of a photograph (which he called the studium) and that which is purely personal and dependent on the individual, that which ‘pierces the viewer’ (which he called the punctum), Barthes was troubled by the fact that such distinctions collapse when personal significance is communicated to others and can have its symbolic logic rationalized."
